⚠️ My Shopify translations aren't importing

Peak PIM imports your Shopify translations automatically, but only when a translated value already exists in Shopify. This guide explains why a language or field can look "missing" and how to bring it in.

How translation import works

Peak PIM reads translations directly from Shopify. For each product, it only detects a language when that product already has at least one translated value for that language in Shopify.

A language that is enabled on your Shopify store but has no translated content yet will not be imported. There is nothing to import until a value is translated.

A language with zero translated values is invisible to the import. Enabling a language in Shopify is not enough on its own. At least one field has to be translated first.

Why a language or field looks missing

  • The language is added to the store in Shopify, but no field has been translated yet.
  • The product has translations for some languages but not the one you are looking for.
  • The translation was added in Shopify after the last import, so Peak PIM has not picked it up yet.

How to fix it

1. Add a translated value in Shopify

In your Shopify admin, open your translation tool (for example Translate & Adapt) and translate at least one field on the product for the language you want.

2. Refresh the product or store in Peak PIM

In the Peak PIM app, refresh the product or the whole store so it re-reads the latest values from Shopify, including the new translation.

The language now appears with the values you translated, ready to bulk edit across your Shopify catalog.

Good to know

  • Peak PIM manages product information, not translation generation. The source translated value has to exist in Shopify first.
  • Once a language is detected, you can manage its values per store from the Peak PIM translation views.
