🏷️ What are metafields?

Metafields are extra fields for storing custom information that doesn't fit Shopify's standard fields, such as a material, a care instruction or a size guide.

How metafields work in Peak PIM

In Peak PIM, a metafield definition describes one of these custom fields:

What it applies to: a product, a variant or a collection
What type of information it holds (text, number, date, etc.)
Which Shopify stores use it

Once a definition exists, you can fill in its value on individual products, variants or collections, then publish to send those values to Shopify.

Metafields are a powerful way to enrich your Shopify catalog and power custom theme features without changing your core product details.
